About Me

My photo
butterbeansblues
I began writing as a way to exorcise my demons from growing up in a home with an alcoholic mother and later an alcoholic husband. My memories soon took on a life of their own, one story leading to another and another. They are mostly true events, my memory of the past being so much sharper than of yesterday and it's helped beyond measure to write them out and then consign them to history. My childhood and my marriages still haunt me and perhaps they always will but writing is a way to confront and purge, to learn to remember without re-feeling, to heal. I spend all my free time with a camera in hand, listening to music and those who make it, capturing images of my cats and dogs and all the people and places that I hold dear. My life is the blues and a houseful of cast off animals. You can find my pictures on my personal Facebook page or under Barbara Beaird Photography as well as on flickr - www.flickr.com/photos/butterbeansblues or stop by my website, www.oneeyeddogblues.com. Snapshotsandmemories is dedicated to the musicians I love and the memories of Magic and Joshua.
